Tom Loughlin is a twenty year old Classical Tenor from St. Helens. He studied Voice and Piano for two years with Helen Francis at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester and is now studying Vocal and Opera Studies with Sarah Rhodes at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Tom started classical voice training at the age of sixteen with Mezzo-Soprano Louise Alvarado at his secondary school in Wigan.

Tom has performed both nationally and internationally, singing in choruses at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Bergen Festival Chorus as well as appearing as a soloist at many prestigious venues including The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, St George’s Hall in Liverpool and Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.

Tom is also no stranger to the theatre; he has performed in many musical theatre productions including: ‘CHESS: The Musical’, ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ as well many operas includingRuddigore’ (Gilbert and Sullivan), La Vie Parisienne (Offenbach), ‘Cosi Fan Tutte’ (Mozart), ‘Dido and Aeneas’ (Purcell) and ‘Trial by Jury’ (Gilbert and Sullivan).

Acting is something Tom has been involved in for a number of years; he has been involved in many plays including ‘A View from the Bridge’ (Arthur Miller), ‘Celebration’ (Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall) and ‘Play’ (Samuel Beckett). Tom has also written and directed a number of Pantomimes including ‘Cinderella’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Dick Whittington’ 

Tom teaches regularly at Sale Grammar School and Stalder Academy of Dance and Performing Arts in Manchester. Recently Tom has also been Musical Director on various productions including ‘GREASE: The Musical’ (RTDA Youth Theatre), in which he was nominated for a NODA Award (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) and ‘Beauty and The Beast’ (Regal Entertainments) at St Helens Theatre Royal.

Charity work is something Tom has been involved with for many years; he regularly sings in concerts which raise money for North-West charities including The Steve Prescott Foundation, Willow-Brook Hospice, Wigan and Leigh Hospice and The Honey Rose Foundation.
